Everyone has a purpose in life. You are not here to just occupy space, consume resources, and use up your time.
There is a divine reason for your existence. Sadly, for some, their beginnings were so tough that it communicated they weren’t worthy of anything good in life.
Life is tough but the beauty of it is that it can also be wonderful because we have been given a precious gift known as the power of free will.
But most of us believe we’re trapped and that there’s very little that can be done about our present circumstances.
We’ve been gripped with the fear that it’s not possible to achieve goals A, B, C because of reasons D.E.F.
And sometimes we’re genuine with the reasons cited however, we end up becoming prisoners of our own making.
The story of the man by the pool of Bethesda who had been lame for 38 years of his life in John chapter 5 rings true to the belief of being stuck and trapped in a certain condition.
The condition could be a health issue, a financial struggle, mental limitations, etc. that you feel for all reasons you’re unable to break free from because it's all you've known.
And that’s where this blog comes in. I write this to help you live your best life now because you don’t have to continue being held prisoner of your past or/and present circumstances but most importantly to let you know that you have a purpose and a destiny.
So, let’s uncover that purpose by identifying possible causes as to why you aren’t achieving the results you want.
1. History/The Past
The day I realized the power the past has over an individual, I resolved to make peace with it as a top priority. I am still excavating parts of my past as life unfolds.
It sounds oxymoronic to do so because it’s as if one is moving forward while looking backward.
You must also have heard it being said that you need to bury the past or leave the past in the past and move on.
Such statements are made innocently but also very ignorantly.
The past isn’t past until you deal with it and you can’t bury the past simply because it’s several years or months past. The past can be as present as the present day is.
What I’m trying to say is that until you identify root causes that began in the past but have now grown into full-fledged trees, you will always be carrying the weight of the past with you.
That means, to travel light and have unhindered focus comes by dealing with issues that affect you as an individual at a fundamental level. Otherwise, at best you’re simply functioning instead of living.
Take a trip down memory lane, it’s necessary for your overall well-being.
2. Mixed Priorities
Mixed priorities are just a lack of insight into who you are at a given season. If you lack internal clarity, anything will appeal to you.

Start by defining for yourself: What’s important to me in this moment or season? What do I need?
Seek to ask pertinent questions and not questions that are victim based such as “Why me?”
Now, no hate towards those who have asked or are still asking those questions (Lord knows I too have asked that question) the reason I say quit asking a question such as why me is because it is a futile question.
That is, you never get real answers or answers that liberate you from within.
Once you understand why you’re here at this point, why you work at a certain job, why you’re unemployed, why you’re a young scared parent, why you’re battling with insecurities, why you’re thriving financially but dissatisfied, you can and will move forward with the right priorities.
3. Ignorance
The biggest joke on me was that I was and still am this well-educated individual. Smart in every respect but ignorant (not as much nowadays, I’m an active learner of life).
Being educated doesn’t mean you know everything, it just means you have a limited amount of knowledge with the ability to read, write and interact with others at a cognitive level.
Ignorance is a far worse disease than the physical ailments we know. I don’t mean to water down the severity of physical sickness but physical sickness only affects the physical but ignorance seeps right through to your soul and spirit and that affects your entire personhood which is by far worse.
Ignorance plagues the way you approach life and that includes what you can achieve.
4. Motives
By motives, it’s not the surface-level intention we tell ourselves. It’s not the conscious decision but the subconscious decision or in other words the underlying reason.
Why do you do what you do? For me it would be, why do I still blog even without much traffic?
Your motive underscores everything you do. So, check with your motives at an in-depth level.
5. Mindset
Your life moves in the direction of your mindset.
Your mindset is the totality of your thoughts both conscious and subconscious.
Your thoughts in turn shape your identity.
Your thoughts tell you what is true and not true even if they’re completely mistaken.
That’s why you need to be careful with what you consume through the media because it’s slowly shaping your thoughts which directs your life eventually.
Don’t underestimate the power of your mind, it can make or break you.
If you’re not happy with where you are in life, what do you need to change your mind about?
6. Fear
Fear manifests itself in many forms.

It can be through an inferiority complex, comparison, superiority complex (oh yes), procrastination just to name a few as the list is endless.
All of us as humans struggle with fear or fears. It doesn’t matter who you are, so long as you’re working hard to have a better life, there’s a fear you’re fighting hence the working!
The people who by the world’s standards are a success are also fearful. They haven’t overcome fear fully but I believe they choose to face them afraid.
And that’s the way it just is. Having fear doesn’t mean you’re not spiritual, or that you lack faith, it only proves the universal truth that you’re a human being.
So instead of putting yourself down because you struggle with a particular kind of fear, how about asking God to be your strength where you’re weak?
I can tell you for free that that is 10 times better than having it all together because nothing in all of the earth and heaven can match God’s power. It’s limitless. All strength is God’s strength, all power is God’s power.
So how will you go about handling the fear in you? Will you take it to the one who can handle it or keep it to yourself?
Make the fear work for you by turning it over to God.
A Wonderful Being You Are…….
Did this blog meet your expectations?
I can imagine that you thought you were going to get tips on how to get what you want and that’s exactly what I have done only in a different way.
Because the truth about this life is that we’ve been given illusions to pursue to the extent that the truth appears false.
The truth is that you’re a human with shortcomings but also, you’re a wonderful being capable of so much more.
Tap into your greatness, tap into your purpose, tap into the truth that way you’ll achieve more than you ever thought possible.
Peace ✌🏾
