My High Priest, Your High Priest

Hebrews 4:14-16

"14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[a] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.

15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

When the Challenges Come, Jesus is Always There

Life often brings our way challenges of various kinds. Through the vicissitudes of it, more often than not, we find ourselves beaten down, discouraged, exhausted, worried, overly conscious I mean, the list could go on and on.

That is why we need a High priest, who identifies with our pain and struggle and helps us through them all.

We who trust in Jesus, though we go through the hurdles and high waters of life, we have the comfort of Jesus being with us and empowering us through it all.

Jesus Is Not Only For The Tough Seasons Of Life

Just the other day, I was thinking about how in need of Jesus I am for every moment of my life.

Even in the silent times, when my mind and heart is processing something and it all feels and looks bleak, it's in that moment that I need Him.

But even in those moments that look so normal and small but that still rankles from within, Jesus wants to help you with that too.

I not only need Jesus when hit by insurmountable circumstances that even in the eyes of others it's evident that Jesus’ intervention is required. But even in those moments that look so normal and small but that still rankles from within, Jesus wants to help you with that too.

He is not just the God of the rock bottom moments, He is the God of the little yet equally frustrating and hurting moments.

He wants us to turn those over to Him. The little cares that gnaw at us, He wants us to involve Him in those too.

You see, Jesus knows our form and our frame.

He understands it too well because He has been human before and He sees our need for Him every day.

There’s not a moment you and I don’t need Him.

We Need Jesus All The Time

I was listening to a video podcast if I may call it that, in it the speaker shared a word that left an imprint on me and this is what was said "we don't only need a “new” word but we need a “now” word"

Those words hit me like a ton of bricks. I realized that I need God every time and all the time, I need His word for every waking moment and at every turn.

So don’t think that Jesus is only meant for those apparent difficult seasons, He is also meant for the most miniscule things we face as we go through life.

Don’t feel embarrassed for a minute longer when you present to Him your need that appears small.

Be encouraged and remember that Jesus is your High priest, interceding for you day and night.
