Worrier or Warrior?

When Worry is Second Nature
To the worrisome peeps, you know just how imprisoning worry is. I know that because I'm a recovering worrier.

Worry has this twisted ability to make you think that by worrying about a matter, (of which you could have every reason to worry) you’re doing something about the matter and by failing to worry, you are not concerned and being irresponsible!
That right there sounds ridiculous but for my worry group of people, you know just how true that deceptive statement is.
We want to be in control
So why do we worry? Other than the fall, we worry because we are helpless beings who aren't in control of everything. The need to be in control and on top of things gives you every reason to worry, it’s as if you’re beckoning worry to come over.
We also worry because we want to do the best but realize we can’t and hence we worry.
Aha! It's All Because of Wrong Thinking
However, worry comes as a result of wrong thinking.
When you think about things that make your stomach cringe, things that cause your heart to beat a little harder and faster, you immediately set your mind off into a worry mode.
The more you do this, the easier it becomes to do next time and it eventually becomes second nature to you.
The Antidote to Worry
So what is the antidote to worry? I wish there was a special formula or a pill one could take that makes worry disappear immediately but there isn’t. The only way to defeat worry is to focus on what is healthy, beneficial and wholesome.
What is healthy, beneficial and wholesome? According to Philippians 4:8 the Bible advises us to think on things that are pure, right, praiseworthy, good and true.
Hence the question, what is good, pure, right, true, and worthy of praise? Well, I can almost hear you say it……. the word of God.
God’s word is the antidote to worry. Just as worry is created by wrong thinking so is a positive mind created by right thinking.
Right thinking comes by focusing on the word of God. The catch is, where will your focus be? On the good or the bad? On the light or the dark? Please choose what's best for you.
The Choice Is Yours
Don't continue to allow yourself to be deceived and entrapped by the snare of worry. You're not changing things for the better by worrying but by turning the matter over to God, you have done the best and most reasonable thing and why? Because God is far able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all you could ever ask, think or imagine.
So beloved, what’s it gonna be? To be a worrier or warrior? The choice is yours.

By worrying we don't add any single stand of hair or solve the issue that is worrying us the best thing is to let God handle it while having a positive mind of Christ and emulating philippians 1:4
