John 11:4 "When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”
On reading verse 4, Jesus had actually responded and He didn't just give a response but a prophetic response.
I don’t know how I have never seen this verse in the way I do now, but I'm glad I finally saw it.
My attention before was drawn to Mary and Martha’s grief and how Jesus delay led to Lazarus death but verse 4 gives us the answer as to why all this happened.
Lessons I picked from that one verse;
Lessons From John 11:4
1. We often forget God’s word when going through trials and difficulties. It isn’t that God has not spoken, He already has. He has given us His word and not just in general but specific to you and to your situation.
Jesus had already sent out a word concerning Lazarus, though at the time it sounded to be in direct contradiction to what happened but He gave out a word and the reason for it.
If you’re in a tough spot right now, do you remember God’s word to you? If not, go back and remind yourself of God’s word to you and hold onto it because it is the truth.

2. Your situation will align to God’s word. Just like in the case of Mary and Martha, Jesus’ words eventually held true. Lazarus came back to life and God’s glory was seen in an unexpected way.
Similarly, your situation will align to God’s word because His word is true and He is God.
It doesn’t matter how you feel, though to an extent it does because it affects your faith, it keeps you from seeing God for who He is, however, His word won’t change simply because of how you feel.
In summary, what God has spoken to you will surely come to pass. 3. God sees things very differently from us. Apart from verse 4, in verse11, Jesus referred to Lazarus’ death as sleep.
It’s interesting to note that what could be the worst of situations to us and by that I mean death, however, to God death is not final.
Jesus referred to death as something small to Him. Its just sleep!
You and I may think that Jesus was being frivolous about the matter but He knew what power He held over death and He needed to make that revelation known.
So dear beloved, what is God’s word to you? Are you holding fast to it or are you focusing on the situation?

You only need to trust him for God's word is and Amen
