Paradox

I can only imagine what went through Jesus mind and the meditations he had in his heart.
He knew His death was slowly encroaching because it was his destiny. His shameful death on a cross would bring glory to the Father and it was the only way to do it.
The garden of Gethsemane clearly captures a broken, weary, and agonizing Jesus. He asked His Father God if He could take away His cup of suffering. What Jesus was essentially saying is He wanted out, however, not what He wanted but what God wanted.
Jesus too had a hard time coming to grips with God's will. It wasn't something He wanted to do but because of His love for humanity and as an act of obedience unto God, He laid down His will and let God's will reign in that hour of pain and utter desperation.
Are You in A Tough Spot?
It may very well be that you're in a similar position, what is presently happening in your life is nothing but gloom, leaving you with a feeling of defeat and hopelessness. Your life has been going downwards.
You wonder why and how you could ever get out of the situation.
For all practical reasons there's just no way out of this one, you have hit a dead end and slammed rock bottom. Yet you're a child of God, you should be living the abundant life for the world to see and admire, but none of that describes your life and the weight of everything just takes its toll on you leaving you wanting to throw in the towel.
So what happens now? Could it be that what you're going through was meant to happen, it was all God ordained, that God carefully crafted and orchestrated all the painful events in your life to lead you to a desirable expected end?
God's Ways Are Higher
I'd like to appeal to you that the ways of God are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts, His ways are contrary to the systems of life.

In God's economy, the way up is down, the road to the cross is the path to victory. Jesus said blessed are the poor in Spirit for they shall see the Kingdom of God. You're in the right place because that's where God wants you to be.
Instead of fighting away the feeling and the struggle, just let go and let God do His work through the suffering.
The moment you let go and surrender to God's will is the point of victory. Jesus overcame the cross when He surrendered His will to God in the garden of Gethsemane.
That's to say that your success doesn't happen when you receive the accolade and reward but it happens when you surrender your will to let His will be done.
In the moment of the greatest darkness therein lies the moment of your greatest light. In God's plan, the breakthrough is birthed in the season of pain and suffering.
The Paradox
Ask God to open your eyes, take on a perceptive outlook and you'll see the unveiling of your victory in the dark night of the soul.
If you're in a garden of Gethsemane right now, take heart and rejoice for Jesus our hero went before us and overcame and because He overcame so shall we.
Your sorrow will lead you to your joy, your pain will lead you to your freedom, your darkness sets the stage for your light to shine.
This is the mystery of God's ways... It's always a Paradox.
