1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

My aim today is to encourage someone to stand firm. To stand firm in the face of adversity, to stand firm when everyone and everything says give up, to stand firm when the odds appear not to be in your favor, to stand firm when everything else is falling apart.

I understand when you say that standing firm is a hard thing for you to do when your soul is weary and your strength has left you but allow me to point you to the one who holds you when you're too weak to stand.

Stand Firm

Jesus is depicted as the Great High priest in the book of Hebrews. He is a High priest who has undergone suffering to the point of death.

Jesus underwent suffering so that He can identify with you in your pain and minister hope and give you strength in the wilderness period of your life.

Jesus does not look indifferently to you when you cry and groan because of the pain you're in, His word says that a bruised reed He will not break. Jesus cares about how you feel and He understands where you are.

When Paul was writing to the Corinthians to stand firm, I believe it was not a standing in their own power or strength or ability but a standing firm on the word of God preached to them.

I too, I am inviting you to stand firm & plug into God's word for your life, for your situation, for whatever it is that you need.

Take God's word and speak it into your situation in faith, declare and claim every promise of God for your life. God didn't create you just to be seen, just to survive; He created you for His glory and for your good. He is not asleep while you're in problems, instead He is beckoning to you to come to Him.

When going through difficult times God is calling you to plug into His powerful word.

• He is telling you who is worried not to be anxious for anything but with prayer and supplication to make your requests known to God.

• He is telling you who is participating in the rat race scrambling for the few resources that the Gentiles also look for, to seek His kingdom and it's righteousness first and all these other things will be added unto you.

• To you who is confused He says I have the mind of Christ, to you who is in lack He says I will supply all your needs according to my glorious riches in Christ.

• He is saying to you who is lying sick in your bed that by the stripes of Jesus you are healed.

• He is saying to you who is worried about your future do not worry for tomorrow will worry about itself.

• He is saying to the brokenhearted that He is close to the broken in spirit and contrite in heart, that He will wipe away your tears, that He will turn your mourning into dancing.

• To you who is in pain He says to you weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

• To you who is feeling weak and feeling that you don't amount to much He calls you mighty man /woman of valor.

• To you who is bitter because of the ill treatment you've received from people He says forgive them and He will vindicate on your behalf.

God is calling you and me to stand firm on His word and He shall surely bring His word to pass. He is telling you and me not to look to the left or to the right but to look to Him as our source of help.

My dear brother and sister, stand firm in the Lord, don't be moved by outward circumstances instead be stirred up in your spirit to trust in God. Give yourself to God wholly and He will not disappoint you because as He has said it in His word that our labor in Him is not in vain.

Your labor in the Lord will bear fruit, that hope, that faith that you have put in God will bear fruit.

Plug In

Therefore don't be discouraged, the Lord is with you, you need only to stand firm. The only sure way to win this battle is to plug in to God's word.

Stay plugged in, for every area of your life that may be barren, plug in. Stay plugged in for your family, friends, church, community, country; just remain plugged into God's word and see Him do His wondrous works in your life.
